Help me decide...

I'm looking at two project trucks. It won't be for full-time driving, but just for a Sunday drive or to occasionally haul something.

Truck #1:
1970 F100 Ranger XLT SWB 360 C6 p/s p/b, original color is green

or

Truck #2:
1970 F100 SportCustom SWB 429 C6 p/s p/s a/c (comes with removed original 360), original color is Acapulco blue

Any difference in rarity or value?

Old Ford trucks are not yet collectors. Check both out for bottom side rust.

Buy the one that speaks to you the loudest.

If they are in similar shape, definitely go with the one with more power.
The 429 is an incredible engine.

Ditto what John said. I would probably lean towards the 429 but a few things to consider:

Health of the 429. Rebuilt? When? how many miles on it?

Same with the 360. The upside with the 360 is it is a good build option to a 390.

I have a 428 in my 72. It is a good, strong motor but it was rebuilt quite a few years ago and I don't have all the details on the rebuild so I don't know if I can do it again or if it will make a good anchor.

Appreciate the replies. If both engines (360 and 429) were stock, would there be much difference in fuel consumption?

Not a lot, if fuel consumption is a concern, you need a little car to drive.
