parts I.D.

need some help identifying part #'s
this particular engine was built in 1990.
i have the build sheet but it is vague at best.
rings-mus . bc1426
pistons-pce. 224-1713 .030
cam-fm330
i was able to figure out the rest of it. ie melling oil pump and victor gasket set. ect. i realize its a shot in the dark but maybe guys that worked on this stuff 20 or so years ago may remember the part #'s really would like to know the comp. ratio on the pistons and the specs on the cam. thanks to all.

Pistons, Clevite, part number 224-1713

http://www.xtremethings.com/Engineer...ston_Specs.pdf

Compression ratio 10:1. Typical double eye-brow head.

Rings, couldn't find anything that made sense, except Badger maybe...

Cam? Dunno, couldn't find anything about that neither. FM might mean Federal Mogul, and "330" might mean "330-428", so it's probably just a stock cam.

How does it run, does it have a smooth idle?

krewat!

thanks for looking up that stuff. the engine does not run, prior owner said he lost comp. in two cylinders- bad valves? he also said it had a solid lifter cam in it per the person he bought it from. so i don't know what the deal is. 360 by the way.
so it has 10.1 comp. pistons, and the heads were shaved. so would that mean the comp. ratio could be higher? or? not sure about the thickness of the head gasket. would like to build this up to around 300 hp. just a cruiser. what i want to do is put new rod and main bearings in while retaining the pistons ect and get a comp cams k-kit 268 high energy cam. new push rods and valves. thats the plan anyway.

At this point, the only way to know what's in it is to take it apart.
