oil change question.

was talking to a guy the other day about oil changes and he said before a oil change throw 1/2 a can of sea foam in the oil and run the truck for about a 100 kms... my question to you guys is, is this first of safe thing to do and second does it actually help on a high miled engine?

oh got a 2006 5.4l SC f-250 thanks for the opinions

personally, I you do regular oil changes at around 3-4K miles or shorter if heavy use then that is better.

This whole extended intervals with oil causes the need for these cleaners.

Right, that is what I hear, but my whole it why? If you need to do this to an old motor then I understand.

I would just advise a proper oil change interval and then you never have that issue.

I've kept up on my oil changes and all just i was thinking this might help with the cam phasers ticking... its actually another question i have they seem to act up randomly not sure one day the truck will run smooth and the next day it ticks then it goes away checked all the plugs they are all good not sure if sea foam will help tho
and should the sea foam be added run for 100kms then dumped? i dont do long commutes anymore letting that sit would it be any good for the seals?
