Newbie needing help

Hey guys. Just purchased my first diesel truck yesterday. Its an 06 F350 King Ranch.

A couple of what seem to be electical issues I need suggestions on. Please keep in mind I am NOT mechanically inclined at all.

4 issues that I hope are all related.

1 - horn does not work as either a horn nor does it sound when setting the alarm.
2 - the reverse sensor does not work. The light is sometimes illuminated, but either way, never sounds off when getting near something
3 - the fog lights dont work. I pull the light toggle outwards and the orange light illuminates showing they are on, but they are not
4 - I have a feeling this one is not related. The rear power slide will only open half way (slowly) but then gets stuck. I read the spray cords with lubricant will work, but seems kind of ghetto? Is there no true fix for this?

Im sure I will have many more questions as time goes on.

Thanks for any help you have

Jesse

Giving you a bump, have you looked at fuses under the dash and looked at all the fuses under the hood in the power distribution box. I'd start there.

Get a test light and check the specific fuses for power if they show good.

agree with above check fuses and relays. if you dont get nothing there check the wiring make sure nothing is worn, loose or not plugged in. the power sliding window. have someone help you by pushing the button and see if you can push by hand to see if it goes the rest of the way. you might have some crud in the tracks that is making it get stuck.

Welcome to FTE....I agree with checking the fuses...I have to ask,did you buy it from an individual or a car lot?If it was a lot, looks like they should get those items fixed for ya if you stay one them.

Check fuse 37 (15A) under the dash for the horn issue. If it is not the fuse, then check for power out to the horns. If the fuse is good, but still no power output, you may have a bad CJB, which has a non-replaceable relay for the horn.

Your parking assist issue is probably just a bad sensor. They go bad fairly often, and the trick is to figure out which one. The dealer can diagnose easily. Not so easy to do yourself.

As far as I can see, the horn and the parking assist issues cannot be related. There is no common fuse. Not without a whole bunch of other stuff not working.

Check fuse 43 (10A) for the fog lights issue.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did look in manual to see which fuse is for which. DId check all the fuses as suggested but none showing blown, all still intact. WHen you say get a test light was it that exactly and how do I test once I have it?

Not to sound like a dick, but this is my first used vehicle and not familiar with things not working off the hop.
Thanks again

test light for a 12V system. One end to ground, other to hot side of fuse. You are testing for power at the fuse block. You can also do the same at the end point.

Thanks Senix. Appreciate your replies. And I think you might need a bigger trailer.

Yeah, a bit small. It is only 40'. Kinda cramped.

I hate electrical stuff, but that is what I would do and have it the past. Check for juice at each point starting at the fuses.
