load leveling suspension
I own a 99 expy xlt.
Here's my problem:
From the start the "check suspension" light would come on after 30 to 45 minutes of driving. The load-leveling system would thus shut off and the vehicle would pretty much stay at its current height. Turning the engine off and then back on would reset the suspension.
This has been a hassle so I've taken the vehicle in for servicing. At one time or another they have replaced a front height sensor, 2 compressors, a relay, a solenoid, the accumulator and dryer. Nothing ever fixed the problem.
In my opinion the compressors wore out from overuse. Each lasted about a year. The suspension appears to be way too dynamic. If I'm sitting stopped, it'll inflate and then deflate rather rapidly within a minute or so. This cycling goes on and on. I haven't checked for leaks, but suspect I have one or else that there's a logic problem with the controller.
Has anyone had similar experiences?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm tired of taking the vehicle in for not.
Cheers,
Alan
