Well I decided to give the ball joints a check and whataya know, the pass side is starting to become loose, so they will be changed out quite soon. I'll prob'ly do both sides. Any tips/hints/tricks/suggestions/comments/etc? Can I get a beer difficulty too? lol
If you are on your own...Plan for a day of work and a day of cussing with alcohol. Just plan for it. If it goes without issues, you won.t need the cussing cept for when you drive it afterwards and wonder why you didnt change em earlier.
Make a list of tools you are going to need for everything and make sure you have em. Even the tools that you may need if something pops up you didnt plan on.
I am not saying it is a tough job...just time conuming. And it never fails that something else comes up when you are doing something for the first time.

Thanks BB. Hey do you know anything about the camber/caster sleeves? I just read a few posts down someone with a 2wd did theirs and both our sleeves arent adjustable. I was thinking about buying the fully adjustable set. Any input/thoughts?

If you take it to a "good" alignment tech after you get finished he can install the right sleeves you need to set the caster/camber. Thats if you need them at all.
2X on Berrys post that is a very good writeup to follow. As for the caster/camber sleeves mark them real good if you need to remove them so you can put them back in the same place. I know they are not adjustable but better safe than sorry then if you take it to be aligned and you need sleeves let them install them.
Great link Barry !, I wish I would have seen it before I recently did my 1999 f350 used the press on the joints in and out. I used fine sanded paper to clean the inside of the spindles where the new joints go witch made the install go much smoother it still was a 6 hour job for me to complete both sides with the help of my son ( thanks David )
Auto zone will loan you the ball joint press for free !
