My reading and testing would make Google Chrome the most standards compliant and least exploitable (safest?) browser out there at the moment.
Firefox is is my daily browser though for two reasons: Adblock Plus, and search as you type.
The one freaky thing about Chrome is in the EULA, which at one point at least appeared to claim the right to all content passing through the browser...uh huh.
You should have received an email from FTE a month or so BEFORE it expired in the early part of September, 2010. I don't have the exact date, but it was around the 9th when it expired.
On the main thread page, you just double click next to your thread title in the blank area, and it will turn into an entry box, you can then change it.

Chrome has Addblock plus as well and all the other addons. I never stuck with it when it first came out because of this as well. But it has them now. FTE is really good at eluding the add blocking as well. It's quite ammusing. A quick click lets them go away forever though. =)
And yes, apparently, Google reserves the right to track everywhere you browse as well.
Its googles thing, if it passes though their servers they generally record it. Which is the point of the incognito windows.
Its really content specific on the stuff your talking about.
The browser checks for pages it needs to update for Google search.
Google has search as you type as well and a lot of the FF features. just firefox, from a security standpoint, is still far more secure than Chrome.
OK, since we're already off topic, and I didn't start it , did they just change the website or is my pitifully slow internet connection acting up?
I am no longer getting a pop up window if I try and rep someone, it just goes to a new full size window, then back to the thread if I hit OK, or if I get the spread it around message, I have to hit the back button.
Also search is different. No more pop up there either. It looks like it sends me to the bottom of the page for the search box. Then if I go advanced search, it no longer suggests how to spell user names when you start typing the name in.
Everyone else seeing the same thing or is this another one of those PEBKAC issues?
This is what I get when trying to search

Please push the back button and reload the previous window.
There is a window time out on FTE.
After so many minutes, it times out.
So, if you had an FTE window open for 10 mins, and you tried to search, you'd get that error.
If you are opening a fresh window and loading FTE and getting that error right away, then you have some cookie/cache problems that need to be cleared out.
usually you can't post though if that is also the case. I've had many a times where it woudlnt let me post cause I left the window open too long.
