What should it cost?
I have a 1990 F150 351W EFI. automatic transmission... I want to have my transmission rebuilt, or swapped out and converted to a standard transmission. What should it cost to rebuild an automatic transmission and what should it cost to rebuild a manual transmission and install it instead of the automatic?
I have been told by one guy that to convert to a standard transmission, it would cost about the same as rebuilding an automatic. Any comments?
Also, would I need to replace the computer? if so how much would that cost? Could I get a newer computer or should I stay with the same year computer but the standard transmission version?
