The stock tank in my 66 is long gone and the filler hole was shaved, the p.o put an aftermarket aux fuel tank in the bed and I cant find the right fuel sending unit with pickup. What tanks do you guys use that took the factory one out? I would like a fuel cell but thats out of budget right now. Is there a factory tank I can use?
I was reading something about that, im hoping I can come up with something i can find at the junkyard. Id like to mount the tank closer twards the cab because im going to be off roading the truck and dont want a fuel tank where the rear axle can get to it or a rock.
Bookmark an article on the subject may find helpful, noticed author installed the filler neck in 'flareside' bed. The second link is to a thread where member posted pic's where he installed the filler neck in the taillight assembly. Both came out great, if don't have the welding skills for relocating the filler neck imagine shop would not charge more than $20-$30.
