I just had to change my sencer, put little grease on o ring, make sure to snap in tight, if not you will get a fuel leak!
Just for grins and future considerations, where is the sensor located? Tex, don't leave us hanging, let us know if the filter fixes the problem. Thanks guys. Stan
Just for grins and future considerations, the sensor is on the bottom front side of the Fuel conditioner (bolted to frame under driver side door) right below the housing were low pressure fuel pump is, back side is filter, rear of it is water drain, Small push in conector 2 wires,

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and to having a 2008 f350 with the 6.4. I am having the same "drain water in fuel" light coming on problem. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the water seperator module part number 8c3z-9b249-b. I am still having the same problem and now they are saying they have to drop the tank, etc.. to do a fuel test. Which of course will be an addtional charge. From everything that I'm reading they should have replaced the black water sensor that is below the fuel pump. Does anyone know where to get one (part number?) and directions on how to replaced it? Any help would GREATLY be appreciated! Thank you in advance
Yes I have multiple times, I've let it set overnight with no separation. I'm thinking it must be the sensor based on the different forums ive looked on.

_______I think they changed the drain only!

Hey guys I replaced the sensor on sat. And drove to dallas today with no problem! The old sensor was full of gunk. Worried my injectors might look the same. Easy cheap fix...when you buy the part from ford it comes w directions
Great news!! the sensor was gross so I replaced it. Drove around all day and the light never came back on. Now I'm trying to get some money back from the first dealer who said that it wasn't the sensor but the module. It's pretty apparant that they were wrong. $384.00 later...... called them and they said too bad, so now I've filled a report with ford motors and the BBB. If you are in east TN DON'T go the the ford dealer that starts with "L"

That is what I would do. I had a dealer one time sell me an extended warranty, then when I had a repair they wanted me to pay and file with the warranty co for my money....not gonna happen.

You have another filter up line before injectors!
Thank God (or the engineers) for that one...
OP, if you think your injectors might look like that, it's a good time to run a few tanks with a biocide, followed up by a good injector conditioner like Diesel Kleen...(Yes, I use Diesel Kleen religiously, but I don't sell it or get any money from them)
