no idle. air intake sensor problem???
I have a problem with my Bronco II 87, 2.9l
It doesnt like to idle anymore, in order to start it u need ot give it some gas to get it to catch, and sometimes it will stall when u take foot off gas, rpm drops down to 500 rpm, if give it gas it runns normally.
I read the computer codes, and I get a 24, intake air charge temperature senor/vane air temperature sensor out of range. Where is this sensor located, and does this sensor sound like what is causeing my problem?
Also what else could possible cause this.
Does this when cold as well as when warm.

The air intake temperature sensor is passenger side of the upper intake manifold, in the middle, below the idle speed control motor (I think). When you ran the codes, was the engine warm or cold? That code will come up in the KOEO sequence if the engine isn't at temperature when you pull the codes.
I would suspect your problem is more likely a dirty idle speed control motor/throttle body/upper manifold. Try taking off the ISC motor and cleaning the valve area out with throttle body cleaner. While you're at it, squirt some into the throttle body.

when it first did this to me the truck had been running in the driveway for about 10 min, was warming it up before i went to work, and it just stalled after 10 min, when i went out to restart it it was like i described.
I then drove it to work, and was fine after i got there, and when i went to come home it was acting up again, and has been ever since.
When I pulled codes truck was warm, i know you cna get some weird codes if its not warmed up.
