Hello,
I have an 03 Expedition Eddie Bauer with 86K on it. Drove through a rain storm back in May and had a miss. It through codes like crazy and we replaced ALL of the coil packs. Well, now it has a miss again, but this time it only does it sometimes not all the time. It is NOT throwing any codes. Hooked scanner up to it multiple times. When it is doing it, it will do it going up hill or when going between 40 and 50 mph, but has done it at other times too. No lights, no codes, no idea what to do. Don't really want to spend more money on coilpacks if that's not it. Do you think it might be fuel filter related or somethig else. Any ideas??? Alloro??? Anybody??? This did start on a long wet drive again. Oh almost forgot to mention that it doesn't seem to do it at all when the motor is cold.
I had a very similar problem with mine, and it turned out to be a slight leak from a heater hose slowly killing the COP's that were back on the passenger side under the firewall, I don't remember exactly what numbers.
I know that alloro has the right answer 97.9% of the time but I think it would be worth your time to check out as it is a common and kind of a sneaky issue (I never saw coolant puddling but found some in the plug wells).
