putting an insert in,will this type of quick fix last or is there another way.the truck only has 115,000 on the meter.not to long ago i installed the gale banks torque tubes and matching exaust and k&n air filter.the v-10 has been a really good motor.
I have not had any plugs blow but was wondering would this be something that should be done before I have a plug blow or just fix as needed. I'm going to have the plugs changed in the next month, hitting the 100,00 mile mark. Thanks for hte help.
I have had two plugs blow out on me. I did Timeserts both times the first one I did has been in the head for 60,000 miles. I say Timesert is the way to go. BTW check prices I think a place in CA was cheapest price varied by like 75.00 from place to place.
One more point you might post in teh V10 forum or here you location and if someone with teh Timesert kit could hook you up and let you use it. Kit was liek 400.00 but the insert was cheap like 5 bucks.
thanks for the info VodkaMan.are these timeserts fairly easy to put in.all the garages that i have brought this too has wanted nothing to do with the repair,i can do the repair's myself, but have limited time.
Yes it was very easy to do. One of the blown plugs was second to the back on passenger side which was tough to get to. The other one was second from teh front on drivers side that was a pice of cake.
