Hi all newby here. I have a 52 F1 with a 6 cyl OHV with Cost Clipper on the valve cover and need to rebuild the carb but can't find the engine displacement. In the glove box it says it's 91HP @3400RPM, it's a Holley carb with a glass bowl but I can't find a part# on the carb. Can anyone help me? THANK YOU
Good luck with the carb rebuild. Most of them leak from the bottom as the housing gets distorted from the bowl being overtightened. About a month ago, I had two of my Holley 1904s rebuilt. I took in seven different 1904s to the rebuilder, three of them with glass bowls, and asked to have two good ones made. When I first picked them up after being rebuilt, I noticed that they leaked. I left them at the rebuilder's and he made them right. He had to hand-make a gasket and the leaks stopped. He also broke both of the glass bowls when trying to re-tighten them. I had to give him two more glass bowls. Be very careful when you're tightening the glass bowl.
Do a Google search for "Holley 1904". You'll find plenty of info, including threads from an IH truck website detailing how to rebuild the carb. You'll also find threads from this forum that will be helpful. You can special order the rebuild kit from your local Autozone. It's made by Gp-Sorensen/Carburetor Kit - Part Number: 96-119B, $16.99.
I have an Offenhauser dual carb set up in my 52 Panel. I, too, have the 215 engine.
Most glass bowls had "HOLLEY" written in small letters. However, if your's has "HOLLEY" written in large letters, then you struck a goldmine.
It looks like the one below. I happen to find it in storage with some other parts.
