Chassis/cab questions

Hey everyone, got my '11 F-450 chassis/cab last week. Traded in my '06 6.0, which was a very disappointing engine to say the least. Anyway, my dealer told me that I don't get the increased power because it would make the truck capable of going over 85mph, which is what the tires are rated for. That makes no sense to me cause I'm sure it can already go over 85 the way it is now. I know they are already de-tuned compared to the pickups, but do the chassis/cabs get no power increase? Since there is also a software update would I get that as well? The first to second gear change is kind of rough, and everyone says how smooth they are after the reflash.

But I do remember reading that there was some special provision for the chassis cab configuration that wasnt't available like the regular cab.

BTW - NICE RIG!!!!!

My other truck is a 99 Pete 357 double frame tri-axle. It definitely gets the job done!

The reason that the power increase is not offered on CC's has nothing to do with the tires. The speed limiter is what takes care of the tire issue. The main reason it is not offered on CC's is the engine setup is not exactly the same. The pickup and CC models have completely different turbo setups.

Now there is a calibration update for the CC's that is referenced under TSB 10-18-2 which provides most of the improvements of the new calibration found in the pickups, but you will still have 300HP/660TQ.

Thanks for the information. I'm not worried about not getting a power increase because the engine has had no issues with anything I've put in the bed yet. Haven't done any towing yet but I'm sure it won't have issues there either.
