Then I guess my question is: In the manual it says (TPMS) (IF EQUIPPED). How can you tell if it is equipped? I have moves large and smaller tires around to get the look I want and never once did a TPMS light come on.
TPMS is standard on all of the SRW trucks. There is a fleet only option to delete it on F-350 SRW trucks with a GVWR over 10,000 lbs.
Last time I stuck my nose in the cab of a Ram, it had a switch that allowed for loaded and unloaded tire pressures. Seemed like a good idea. And I'm really surprised none of the tuner hacks have offered up a TPMS threshold adjustment with the standard "for off road competition use only" disclaimer.

Seems like a very good idea to me. While my '03 doesnt have them, I found that using the recommended pressures in my truck while unloaded makes for very poor handling and a terrible ride.
How often does the system "flag"? I installed new wheels and tires on Monday, that dont have TPMS, but I have gone about 60 miles and as yet, no TPMS light...
... as a follow up question, if it something that checks periodically, and just hasnt tripped the sensor yet... are the bands from my stock rims transferable to the new ones?
... sorry if neither of these questions make sense. this is the first vehicle with TPMS, so im still trying to fully understand it...

It takes about 20 minutes of continual driving for the warning and the light to go on the first time. After that it happens every time you get in the truck.
Yes the sensors from your stock wheels are transferable but they are no longer bands. They are internal valve stem sensors and work as long as your tire pressures are within factory spec. I've seen sets of 4 units for under $90 on ebay.

Maybe thats why. My trip to work is about 15-20, so maybe i have just been a hair under the 20 min mark each day. Maybe ill take an extra few turns tomorrow and see if it will trip. (maybe they installed the sensors by accident
