K see if i can get responses to my on going problem.1992 e4od 351 bronco 44000 miles ago had it rebuilt9 local ford dealer0( 2002)Seems hot days she pour fluid cooler day no leaks. talk to a tranny shop and said probably doesnt have the new seal that ford retroed .Truck has an easy 44000miles on it, no towing. Any one know what year they make these new seals availabale to quit the leaks . I fully understand it may not be just be a leaky seal .All input appreciated for i merely am a parts changer not a mechanic thanks TR
Since your troubles seem related to heating, why not adding an auto tranny cooler to the system? almost any shop can do it and as you stated this seems like a solution for your tranny issues.
Mine was leaking only when hot. Hot from high speed or towing. I have a cooler. It was my front seal. I also changed my torque converter. I heard that the early T/C had an issue that made them run hot. Is yours leaking from the front?
Mine has been slipping sometimes, like it goes into neutral, it does it now like once a day (mostly when i'm on the highway), i guess it's the torque converter, isn't it?.
If your reman in the E4OD was anytime after 1994 it got all the "new" components unless the Ford dealer didn't follow Ford Corporate's explicit instructions that all E4OD components manufactured prior to the redesign of the internals in 94 were to be tossed. You should not be able to buy parts for a pre-94 E4OD. When an E4OD is remann'd there are no "old" parts even available for it. (Yes, that's how rotten the internals on the early E4OD's really were).
