My Brother Works for a Auto Auction Salvage company out of ham lake mn. Well he has hauled 5 2010 f150s that just poof started on fire after the vehicle was parked and shut off, the latest one only had 327 miles on it, this was caught in time so its all still together and ford is investigating. Anybody else heard of this problem happening???? Seems kind of strange, no details have been released on it.
Perhaps they were External Combustion models? Where do these fires start? In the engine compartment? In the cab? In the bed? Perhaps the crappy Chinese tires? Are these stripped down F150's or ones that are repleat with electronic equipment. (Like cruise control) Maybe fires start in the crappy ash tray provided nowadays. (Just a plastic cup that fits in the drink tray) I've had a long tradition with trucks that catch fire myself, so I'm not very concerned. Just business as usual. Maybe these are the work of a Chevy/Dodge/Toyota/Nissan arsonist?

Fires Started right near the fuel tank, and on top the motor on this last pickup that was on fire, they put it out in time so it didnt do to much damage, thats the one that got hauled down to the cities to be investigated by ford. The others were a complete loss.
I have not heard of this issue? Do explain more! Lol I don't keep track of the newer pickups as much as i should.
There is a lot of info out here but just a few issues, spark plugs that can not be removed, cam phasers, timing chain tensioners that bleed off most of these issues were not resolved until late 07.
1999 F-150's had a problem in the cruise control wiring. Trucks were catching fire so Ford did a recall to replace the defective wire harness. Mine didn't burn but it was part of the recall. Free fix anyway.
