Carb Storage?

A friend of mine bought a 79 F250 awhile back that had an engine fire from bare wires touching. The owner before him installed a 1400 600cfm electric choke Edelbrock on it that didn't have much run time on it.

My buddy figured it was toast as the outside was all burnt and it was full of ash and debri when the fire department tried to put out the fire. He was going to throw it away.

I brung it home with me took it all apart dipped it and got it looking like new again and blew out all the passages. I then placed the carb on my 302 and went for a drive around the block. Truck ran excellent and the electric choke still works good.

The normal carb for this 302 is a 1405 600 cfm manual choke Edelbrock, so the 1400 will just be a great spare or might sell it. How should I go about storing it until I need it? Thanks, and sorry for the long story first before the actual post.

I would bag it and shelf it. Bagging it, I would think, would keep any rubber parts from drying out if it sits for a while.
