It's been a long time since I've felt like a real Ford owner. At 50 I can count my first truck 1965 f100 at 18, and then 1975 ranchero at 20, 1972 Bronco at 24, 1995 F-250 crew cab 4X4 powerstroke at 35 and now my vintage 1972 f-100 4X4 shortbed with the 360 V8, what I believe is a NP435, Dana 21, Dana 44 and what looks like a 9" rear. Very good driver and everything works but the air. I'll modernize that. Lots to do with it but I'm just so happy to have found it in such great shape and in a shorty. A few questions though: First of all I'm aware that the 360 is an FE block but when shopping for the performance parts I want do I just take my reference from the 390's? Also the steering links, power steering pump and gear have all been replaced, but I think the toe is a bit off and the front coils are in need of replacement. It has a 4" lift and I'm looking for a recommendation for some good progressive springs and someone (alignment/suspension shop in AZ) who knows these trucks. Any help is very much appreciated.
any more alignment shops are a joke. the people doing alignments for the most part don't have a clue, they just look at a computer screen and guess.
I almost bought a rack and 4 wheel alignment set up but couldn't justify $30,000 with no more alignments than my shop needs done.
