66 Transmission Lines
i was posting prior to the MB swap as jlpechos, but the email account that was on record was expired.
anyway, i have put headers on my 66 352 auto, and ran rubber tranny lines up to the radiator.
M question is is this, does someone sell pre-formed steel lines for this application?
I have the 3sp. FMX tranny, does anyone have any suggestions?
I would really like to get rid of most of the rubber as i think they run a bit too close to the steering for comfort.
in my 66 shop manual, the only reference i could find to the factory cooling setup, was in the preliminary guide, a vague reference was made that the cooling pan on the side of the transmission was not used in thermactor-equipped systems.
My thinking is i should be able to use lines from a mid 60's mustang or fairlane, can someone confirm? or perhaps does someone have the layout of these lines?
Any and all help will be appreciated
thanks
Joe
Hope to see some of you at the petit jean swap mee this fathers day! I hope to have my truck there!
jst bend your own. go to NAPA, they have steel brake line with the gravel guard (its like a spring the length of the line). that stuff bends so easily, you can make any bend with your hands. and unbend it if you need to.
total xost will be under $20 and you dont need a bender.
