Oil pump?

Im trying to deduce what is going on in my F100 (2wd, 302, auto). I recently took out my truck for a probably a 20 min drive, 10 min out, 10 min back... then i started hearing lifter rattle.

today i removed the valve cover gasket on the passenger side... not even wet, no oil seems to be getting to the head, i turned it over a few times and pretty much nothing. there seems to be some residual oil thats pooled on the lifters themselves, but just really really dirty in there from sitting up for awhile i guess..

oil pump? seafoam? and nice thick oil afterwords? anything else i can do to clean it out so it works better?

also, because its a 2wd, its front sump and has a fat front oil pan... am i going to have to jack the engine up for get it out or will it wiggle out, looks very tight the way it is now.

thanks again

When you said dirty in the lifter galley, what color dirt? Grey-brown sludge?

black.... slight hint of gray with an odor of sweet gas... truck had water in the fuel

changed the oil, put 15-40 in there... looked promising at first but when i took it for a spin, oil pressure dumped again.

when i changed the oil, i used a motor flush to try and clean out some grime, i have caked oil in there from it sitting

is there a better way to "degunk" the heads and block? i havent tried seafoam, or kerosene or anything like that...

any tips/tricks on oil pump replacing? i think im gonna have to jack up the motor though
