ok,, will try this again. I already have the switches. Been reading all i could find about them but still confused. When i find the wires,, is it as simple as just connecting the accessory to the wire and its done?? Is the "switch" already connected,, the ground connector?? Is the wire i find just the feed?? Because if the wires are just "hots",, then you'd still need a switch for the accessory... Already know the colors and where to look, etc. thanks..
The wires you've found are the wires activated by the switch. They are hot when the switch is on, and cold when the switch is off. You will still have to ground the accessory, but all you will need to do is wire them to run off whichever switch you choose.
Upfitter 1 and 2 are 30 amp service; 3 and 4 are 10 amp. If you are running something that needs more than 30 amps, you'll need to wire in another relay, and use the switch to 'activate' the relay. If you're running something less than that, you can wire the accessory directly to the wiring you've found.
yep,, thanks., thats what i needed to know. I was afraid it was just a hot but still needed a switch. So i guess in electrical work,, that wire would be called a switch leg.. thanks again.
