Have my 06 at dealer for blue smoke when stopped at light and truck looking like it is on fire the smoke is so bad. Told mechanic I thought it was the turbo seal gone bad and it was burning oil as it smelled like it. He took truck back and they went and looked at it and came back with I've repaired a lot of these and you have Oil cooler, Egr cooler failure and it's puking antifreeze. I said really as I have not noticed any of those symptoms or seen any of that. he says yup it's gonna be a 4500 to 5000 repair bill parts and labor. I said really well I think Ford is gonna pay for it. He says no it is out of warranty. I said you better check Oasis as it was all done 4 months ago and still a covered repair by Ford so someone is gonna eat it and not me. His reply was I'll have to dig deeper into it tomorrow when it cools to see if maybe it is just the turbo seal. trying to make a fast buck or what.
Ant ideas in the smoke and could it possibly failed again that fast especially with coolant filter on it and regular maintainence.
Engine runs same as it always has. Antifreeze is clean. I pull out dip stick and the oil smells the same as what is coming out of exhaust at idle. I have enough power to pull my 16k fifth wheel up hills and everything else with po struggling whatsoever.
Been in shop day and a half now and they haven' touched it. Excuse is they have only 1 diesel tech and some other jobs come before me. I think they Don't want to do warranty repair no $ $ $ for them from me.
And I' m stuck in a RV park and have to be on the road by next weekend for another appointment middle of week after next.
