Odd door locks
I have an 81 f100 and the door locks are a sliding piece above the window crank or so. The plastic piece that holds them is broken. Anyone else have these door locks or pieces to fix them? Also if I get replacement door panels can i just cut a hole in the door to put them back in?

The 80 and 81 trucks have that style lock, aftermarket panels specific to your application SHOULD already have the proper cutout. I might have a couple sets of those sliders(I'll have to check my parts trucks, I have an 80 and an 81,) PM me if you're interested.

The best fix is probably to convert to the later style pushbutton lock at the top of the panel. I think the latch mechanism is the same and you only need the new pushrod & door panel.
