Dana 60 Wheel Alignment

When setting the toe-in what shall it be on these trucks? About 1/4"? And does that need to be measured at the edges of the tire or edges of the rim? Also, a 1/4" toe-in would mean the overall number at the front is 1/4" less than the number at the back side of the tire, correct? Or is each wheel toed-in a 1/4" making the measurement 1/2" less in all? Thanks

About an 1/8 inch is best. 1/4 will chew up the tires and should only be used if the roads you drive on most are really rutted out and making it pull bad.

Best way to measure is to jack up each front tire, put a can of yellow spray paint on the ground right in front of it in the middle of the tread and have someone spin the tire as you spray. Then hold a scriber in the middle of the paint line as they spin it again. You need the finest line possible. Then measure to that to get your readings.

Just remember to jump up and down on the front end to settle the suspension good before you measure. Also center the steering wheel with the engine running. You can eyeball down the sides and adjust the drag link to get the steering wheel real close then adjust it on the side of the road to fine tune if you have to.

Oh, if your drag link or tie rod ends have any slack at all in them then replace them is the best but if it is real minor then go 1/4 inch total toe in. NOT toe out. the slack in the joints will make it less going down the road.
