U-Bolt Length
I am thinking about taking about 3 or 4 leafs out of the stock front spring pack of my 48 f1.
Will the stock U-bolts be long enough to tighten the springs back up to the axle or will i have to get new ones?
Also will i have to get new spring clamps to clamp the leafs back together or can i use the old ones. Thanks

The U bolts are long enough but the threads may not go up far enough to get them tight. Also, it is recommended that the U bolts be replaced for safety reasons whenever things are taken apart. Most of the vendors sell shorter U bolts, usually less than 10.00 each. Also, your local spring shop can make them for any length.
