I need some help (overheating)!

I was needing some help. I have just bought a 96 For F350 quad cab dually 7.3 turbo and i drove the truck around the house for two weeks and pulled my camper a few times before starting out on a camping trip, never seemed to have any problems. Once i started out fro my trip i started up an incline on the highway and my engine temp light came on so i pulled over and popped the hood it had busted my coolant tank. So i called a friend and he brought me another one. fille the system back up and started out again done good till i started another incline overheated again and busted another tank. i patched the tank and got a new cap thinking the cap wasnt releasing pressure as it should and started back out once again over heated when started up hill. I finally took the thermostat out and tryed that drove the hell out of the truck with the camper unhooked and it never offered to over heat once the camper was hooked back up and start on r way home first incline the truck over heated. Finally i got out and said to hell with we will have it towed. If any one can give me any advise it would be appreciated.

If you removed the T-stat and the overheating problem was still there, I would say that there is a really good chance that you have a plugged up/restricted radiator. sometimes a flush can help, but most times you just have to bite the bullet and buy a new radiator.

Btw, it also possibly could be a water pump problem, are there any leaks?

There are no known leaks that i can find. Thank god i work in a parts house! Im going to try and flush the radiator. I read some where that its possible that the exhaust could be stopped up? Just a question. I cant figure out why it is busting resevoir tanks. It is like it is vapor locking! Thanks for the help i will give it a try.

If the exhaust was plugged then it wouldn't run good without the camper. I'll go with what Ian said.
