what are people sticking to for their tranny, and rear diff drain and fill? and also radiator drain and fill....how many miles should i go in between service....thanks alot
Do this. Verify if there is an external filter on your tranny. If so then 30K flushes.
Big internal filter then 60K flushes.
To verify, crawl under the truck, right in front of the pan for the trans do you see what looks like a big t-paper roll? That will be the external filter.
Coolant you should check nitrates every 20K. Flush at 100K if you can make it, but bet you won't. If your nitrates fall to low then it is a mandatory flush sooner.
I would just check the diff fluid. If there is no leakage then run it till you get close to 100K then dump it.
Senix, My 2008 does not have the paper roll. It has a different tranny filter that is costs much more than the toilet paper roll. Have you seen the toilet paper roll looking filter on these trucks? Mine was built in 2007 so I assumed that this was a change from the 6.0 liter.

My understanding is most of the job 1 (2008) model year tranny's still had the paper roll.
If yours does not have it then you are lucky. The larger internal filter does a better job of filtration.
Mine has the internal filter and a metal canister filter that was 170 bucks if I remember correctly. I also thought it had the toilet paper filter and bought that first but when I changed out the fluid, the filter was different. Oh well.
On all of my trucks, for decades now I drain & refill my diffs, transmision, transfercase, and cooling system, every 2 years or about 70K to 80K kilometers.
I continue do to so, and do my own work so its done right.
