Looking for Advise??!!

I had bought my first F350 Diesel (1999 F350 SuperDuty 7.3L) I have 2 gas F350, one a stake body and the other a dump truck. My 1999 has 173K and I am attempting to put in a gooseneck. I took the bed liner out and relized that the bed is, looking to me as shot. The bed rails under the bed (dont know the proper name) are all rotted and no longer, in the middle of the bed, no longer go over the frame and have since sank down and inturn dropped the middle of the bed.

My 1st question is, Is it better to replace the whole box or is it better to pull the bed and repair the rails?

My second question is, I may have a F250 SuperDuty SRW bed availble to me. Is it possible to just put my fender flares on that bed?

Thanks,
Aaron

From what you describe of the existing bed, I'd go with a replacement if the replacement is straight. Adding a crossmember for the gooseneck is gonna be easier with the bed off in any case. DRW fender flares are a bolt-on proposition.

You might want to get a bed from a salvage yard that already has the flares on it. I don't know where you're located, but here in western North Carolina I go to J and T Auto Parts. There are salvage yards all over the country that can help, though. You might try to google "ford f350 salvage parts". Good luck.
