Has anyone tried the msd propane kit. i bought several years ago and im still not sure if i should install it. i know there are some risks but MSD claims its the safest kit by monitoring all the engine paramiters. im starting to think it should be installed on more of a toy truck rather than my everyday driver.
If I were to ever try propane again the only system I would use is the Power Shot 2000.
My reason is it uses boost pressure to control how much and when the propane flows.
I built a single stage system that used a Hobbs switch to turn the propane on and off by boost at a set pressure.
In driving, either to much, or not enough.
So I built a dual stage system.
Better, but still not very smooth in how much it delivered.
I don't know anything about the MSD system, so you might want to compare it to the Power Shot 2000 for how it works.
i know that there is a line that hooks up to the map sensor on the msd kit, what it does im not sure and there is also a wire that connects to the boost sensor. when you say to much or not enough, is that line stalling or a black cloud?
i looked into the powershot 2000. the major difference i see between the two is the powershot is proportional to the boost. i am not sure id the msd kit is, but there is lines running from the map sensor and the boost sensor to the ecm that controls the reg.
