Ok from what I can gather, you must be talking about the ESOF pump. If it sounds like a little air compressor, then that's what you are hearing. It has nothing to do with your turbo. Its for the 4WD system and ESOF means: Electronic Shift on the Fly... Hope that helps somewhat...

sorry not the turbo i'm finding out

I believe my problem is in my fuel cooler pump. Its the silver cylinder that sits to the left of the fuel coolant reservoir tank and has to hoses coming out of it. There is a square box that looks like an arrator in between the two of them being the pump and the reservoir and this is the part that is making a loud noise as i give it gas going down the road. It does not do it when i am just idleing. Can someone plz advise me if this is the right thing that i am explaining and what my possible problem is and the best way to fix this problem. Thank You

Did you have someone sitting on your engine while driving down the road to make that determination?

Use the 6.4 bible or coffee table book to help identify what you are talking about. Sounds like fuel cooler to me but use the pictures to help tell us what you are asking about.

Powerstroke 6.4L Bible Page

go to above link and go down and click on the fuel system pages.

You can also get the entire document in one link at:
Diesel Technician Society
but right now I am having problems with his site downloading the file; and my copy is on another computer not available right now.

What I see is coolant reservoir; then to left of it (facing engine from front of truck) the fuel cooler heat exchanger; then it looks as if the fuel coolant also goes to the turbo actuator cooler which is left of the heat exchanger or fuel cooler.

The fuel cooler coolant pump is located near the radiator support.
