Tie Rod End
These old rigs have something called a Drag Link or Center Link and new ones are serious dough.
I was wondering if it was possible to cut the ball joints off the ends, thread them, and add a tie rod and adjusting sleeve.
Anyone ever try that?

Not sure, but it sounds feasible if you are a good, careful fabricator. I got my Moog drag link from rock auto for under $150 I believe, lifetime warranty. If you get it from there, search this site for a 5% discount code.
I also believe Wild Country Bronco or the like sells adjustable ones like you are thiking about making.
