I was backing my F350 out of driveway and hit a brick column. The truck stalled out and will not start. I checked the fuel shut off and it was not tripped. this was a low speed jolt. When I turn the key I hear the fuel pump send fuel to the filter housing and then stop. The truck will crank but not fire off. I checked all the fuses and they are good and no trouble codes found.
I second/third the fuel inertia switch. I can't come up with any other explanation and those things can trip very easily. Take the kick panel off and check the plug connection and try pressing the button.
I found the trouble. My fuel pressure regulater senesor on the back side of fuel filter came off. There is a flat presed steel nut that holds it on that backed off. Thanks for the help.
Do these trucks, F350, have an inertia switch? I ask because 2 weeks ago I was hit in the rear by a Honda that had been hit in the rear by an 18 wheeler with a dump trailer full of dirt and my truck NEVER shut off once. I looked in the rear view mirror, saw it coming and hit the throttle (notice I didn't say GAS!). It hit hard enough to fold both mirrors in but didn't shut off.

Yep, it has a fuel shut switch triggered by a collision, but it must take a lot of force to trigger it.. I hit a deer a few years ago at 55 mph, which ruin my grill, bent the front bumper and push the passenger side fender back.. This did not trigger the sensor.. (it is located in the kick panel on the passenger side thru a hole for your finger)
Yes, they are supposed to have an inertia switch. The primary power from the fuel pump relay goes directly to it, then out to the fuel pump motor.
HOWEVER, if it is "tripped", it should illuminate a light on the instrument panel that reads "Fuel Reset" (or similar).
Having said that, the above two statements are based on the wiring diagrams, and I gotta' admit that I can't find the spot on the instrument panel, nor have I looked inside the passenger's kick panel to verify it.
