Drove through a torrential downpour for approx. 15 minutes at 70-80 kmph. Once the rain started to let up, I tried to accelerate back up to highway speed, truck shuddered, ran rough and struggled to speed up. I pulled over, let it sit for a while thinking something under the hood must have gotten wet. After 15 or 20 minutes I drove away, no more problem.
Any ideas?
Sorry. 2003 V-10 Eddie Bauer, 170,000 kms. I've only owned for about 6 months, so I'm not sure what has/has not been changed over the years. No real issues since I've owned it.
If I were you, I would have the plugs, boots, and coils changed. Sounds like water had pooled and you are grounding out. I recommend Motorcraft plugs and coils. Boots are just rubber sleeves that act as insulation and keep water and dirt out.

I agree except for replacing the coils. Just replace the boots and the plugs. Don't replace the coils unless they are bad and a misfire from rain doesn't mean that the coils are bad.
