Left me Stranded

All of last week, the truck has had random longer than normal starts. I knew something was up so I made sure not to get too far from home with it. Go out to work Friday morning and she won't fire off. Took it about 30 seconds to build oil pressure so I figure she needs an stc fitting fix. The diesel tech is a buddy of mine and is going to give me the works with a couple injectors and a FICM also. Nice to know people. She is at 90k miles and this is the FIRST time she has ever left me stranded (it really doesn't count as stranding me because it was in the driveway). Still love it to death. First time anything under the hood has been removed or touched besides the air intake.

Doh! Luck you were at home. My FICM died while I was at work. About 50 miles from my mechanic. That wasn't a cheap tow.

I remember when my FICM was going out I was 680 miles away and I was getting FICM performance code. That was this past winter in December. I was worried the entire week I was away as it was getting as low as the teens and I knew that the FICM was taking hits when it gets that cold.

Luckily I made it back and had it replaced. Almost 5 yrs the original one lasted me, I thought I did pretty good. I would have hated to get that tow bill though.

Been awhile since I have seen you post on here. Luckily, that is my uncle's rollback so the tow was free. Its a good feeling to be able to get your own dead truck from point A to B without worrying if its going to get scratched or strapped down wrong.

Since your buddy is hooking you up, I'd shoot for studs and and EGR delete....unless your state inspects for that kind of stuff

He told me he would, but I can't afford the studs and delete at the moment. Plus, I really would like to do it myself.
