This place sells aftermarket replacement cast iron manifolds which look like stock, but supposedly are better designed castings. The prices are reasonable; $50-$60 each. I haven't tried them myself yet, but I got the recommendation on this forum.
M & M FORD L/M in Liberty NY has ONE = 845-292-8600.
HAVEN FORD SALES in Haven KS has ONE = 800-748-7803.
WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has ONE = 606-787-5293.
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has ONE = 800-543-4959.
No other FoMoCo Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
The dealers are usually cheaper than the obsolete parts vendors because they are STUCK with the parts, since they can no longer be returned to Ford for credit.
HAVEN will prolly be cheaper than the other sources, but...
The last MSRP for this manifold was $341.58 / Dealer net cost was $204.95.
bill can some manifolds such as ones bought at autozone just be refinished and possibly warped? what are the type of stock manifolds that have a header shape to them? i think i have seen them on cars with fe's but not trucks?
i would tend to think that would be better than big jungle jym headers.
Thanks Bill! Was noticing an exhaust leak and right away found a crack on the passenger side manifold, right in the middle. Cranked it up and sure 'nuff, exhaust leak through the crack.
Those ones from 1A Auto appear to $152 for a pair and they claim that their "improved" design addresses/eliminates the shortcomings of the OEM units.
Just My $.02,

Yea no kidding. Find me an aftermarket manufacturer whose selling strategy is a claim stating their product is crappier than the original. 'Tain't gonna happen.
