My 08 came OEM Conti's M/S. They wore out quick. Found out the tread depth was not as much as the others. They cut corners to supply Ford or keep the price down.
These Michelin LTX/2's are very good and will wear well. They didn't have them produced yet for 18" wheels when I bought the A/T/2's.

I have rotated my tires every 5K and I am still getting uneven wear - my dealer says it is normal, and I cant check alignment as the tire stores dont have the alignment numbers yet. Any one else with issues?

I live in AZ so traction on ice and snow isn't a concern. A smooth ride followed by durability are the most important to me. Thanks.
I had the Goodyear Wrangler A/T's on my 2008 with the 20's and they seemed to drive very well and wear even. The only major issues I've had with them are from taking the truck places it probably shouldn't have gone. Sidewall torn from big rocks and tread blocks being torn off mostly on the newer tires.

Driving around on the road they seemed to be the perfect tire to me. I have the michelins on the new truck and it seems to be a little "loose" compared to the '08 but I can't say with certainty that it's the tire causing it. They are definitely my prime suspect though.

I'm considering the Wrangler MTR's for the new truck.

I had my stock Michelin's (AT2's) looked at by the dealer service staff, they came back and said "Those things look terrible". I have chunks coming off the rear tires, middle two tread bands.

The warranty write up states tire spinning as the cause and is kind of hard to get past the initial claim. Putting 800 ft/lbs to the ground makes it really easy to smoke the tires if ya want.

Anywho, I am getting 2 new ones. My diesel tech said that even if you do burn outs on occasion they should not blow chunks that bad. If any of you attempt a warranty claim on these tires, be prepared to get grilled on tire spinning/power braking, or accused of doing such things. Do it before you hit 10K. After that it's going to be a tough process. 12K is the max mileage on making a tire claim and expecting 100% coverage.

Well guess what I noticed when I got home today? Tread chunks missing from the same spot as the OP. I wanted to pull this up and read through it before I went out and give it a good looking. I only have like 4500 miles on mine, and yep it's the right rear.

Brought mine in today and the dealer is replacing all 4 tires under warranty - I have 11,600 miles on them and they are wearing terribly. - I am thinking I might try to sell the new set and get some Good Year Silent Armour AT's - my wife has a set on her Suburban and they are wearing well and ride great - they also have a more aggressive tread pattern the the Michelin's - Which is better for me as I am constantly off road but like a tire that isn't too noisy - for the last 12 years i have been using the Wrangler MTR's and most recently I bought a set of Dura-Trac's but I think that aggresive a tire will certainly not be my best bet if I want a quite ride - Also I think the previous set of tires had something to do with my accident - I am not sure - but I am sure they didn't help me maintain control under heavy breaking on the blacktop at 75+

Hankook Dyapro ATM's are nice!
I just put them on my 2011 F-350 Dually. The BFG's were falling apart and getting bulges on the sides.

Hi all, I have a little less than 700 miles on my Michelin AT2s (on my new '11 tree fitty). Tire pressure warning went off the day I took it home and I found they were all right at 20 lbs low. The rear takes 80 and front 65. I'm having some balancing issues. I hate to have someone look at them 'cause they always seem to make it worse and then you're screwed for perputual tire balance hell.

So most folks are seeing issues with the tread before 10k miles? Is there a commonality on tire pressure or front or rear, right or left?

Good luck getting more than about 20,000 miles out of the Hankooks! They are cheap but I haven't seen them last long on any truck with as much torque as the 6.7.

I got 52,000 miles out of my first set of Goodyear AT/S and the second set has almost 35,000 miles on them with about 20% tread left on them at this point. The original set saw a lot of abuse at the hands of a race tune. When I purchased the second set, I couldn't justify the price difference between the GY and either Michelin or BFG. I knew they wouldn't wear any better.

Judging by the first thousand miles on my brother's 6.7, I am prepared to rotate the tires at least every 5,000 miles if not sooner. The Michelin tread pattern is good for traction but horrible for wear.

Not gonna argue with ya but I'll keep you posted on how well they do. So far they have 2000 miles on them and are doing good. The other BFG's lasted 3,000 before I replaced them. But I think the massive power these truck are putting out are hurting the tires a little.

So what size BFG's were they? I have a buyer for my Michelins, as soon as I can get Ford to replace the one that is chunked.
I'm looking at 285/65/20

Well Since they were on a dually the bfg's were 245/70/17's. The dealer told me to try Hankook Dynapro's ATM, so since the warranty covered the other ones, I went with them.

Honest --- Is ANY tire that fits a stock 2011 out there designed from the ground up to handle that much torque and power?

Sure, you can shave it... etc...

I think Ford just sent their suppliers back to the drawing board.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a much beefier tire (many more plies), aka heavy truck tire, as standard.
