quick distributor question...

i have a 73 f-100 302 3 on the tree...i'm going to be changing my intake soon and once i get the distributor out since it's stuck in the hole....i was wondering if it had anything to watch for....i know on my 86 bronco it was take out and put in...but i've read on the FE series engines they have a rod for the oil pump or something like that....anything to watch for any suggestions on doing this?

Also i was wondering if there was anyway to use the distributor from my 86 bronco in case something happens while removing the old dizzy...i know it's all electronic but i know from the bronco's previous owners hack job it only needs one wire on the distributor module to work.

any input guys...thanks in advance.

As far as getting the distributor out, PB blaster and patience, I hear you can heat up the intake area a little with a propane bottle style torch tip and the use key board duster spray upside down on the dizzy neck?

Rapid temp change concept, someone sales a automotive application sorry can't remember the name.

Maybe a strap or real small pipe wench, ck out a special plumber wrench used for under the sink work, its for changing the faucet sets lock washer.

The oil rod may come out with the dizzy or come out enough to fall over, if it stays in and it leans when reinstalling the dizzy put a touch of grease to hold it straight.

All I got for you now at 2 :36 am.

yeah...i know what you're saying...about the temp change...the chemical is CRC Freeze off...i've been doing some stuck dizzy research...

i've changed and removed many distributors and never noticed an oil rod or anything...anyone got any ideas on why this is... is it something different with this older engine or what?

it's 2:36 for you and 3:47 for me...i know the feeling..
