I need to R&R my 5 speed trans. It's a 93 F150,2 wheel drive. The only thing I haven't figured out is how to disconect the hyd. clutch line at the bell housing. My replacement gear box has a short stub of plastic line and a connector attached to the throw out bearing. I need to know how to take that connector apart.
Thanks in advance for any assistance or information.
If you look at where the tube attaches to the slave cylinder, there is a plastic
bushing. When you push that bushing inward towards the transmission it pushes
on some springy metal fingers which will release the hydraulic hose if you pull on the
hose.
Here's what the release tool looks like. It can be purchased at most auto part stores.
You can due the same thing using a flat blade screwdriver. Just be careful you don't damage the plastic bushing. The bushing must be completely pressed inward or the hose will not release.
