stg locker sticker

as some of you know kris welded up an open diff for paul's bronco, and i plan to have him do the same for me when i get a sterling. kris has dubbed them "stg lockers". he asked me to come up with a simple logo that he could have made into black and white stickers by a friend of his. normally i'm pretty creative, but i haven't come up with much today, just these 3. ms paint is about as advanced as i get, and shaky drunk hands don't weild a mouse too good. if you have any ideas let me know. in the end it's up to kris.

here's what i have so far:
this first one was a gag, but for some reason i like it

a randy's r&p rip off

and a detroit rip off

as you can tell, i'm not having that good creative vibe going on. maybe it will hit me after i get some booze in me.

And while STG lockers are ok, I'm kind of partial to my Stafford lockers

yeah, not sure what happened. my boss didn't know what was up either, they just sent a guy to replace me one night. so i think it was the 1st shift supervisor that booted me because he saw the other new guy sitting down on the job and booted him the day before. my boss liked me and i was working hard, so i'm kind of pissed, but **** happens. it was a decent job too.

So you got fired for no reason? Sounds a little fishy to me. I know in VA the law is you can be terminated within the 1st 90 day probation period without a cause, after that they need a valid reason for termination.

Just a side note, most employers check personal stuff on people all the time. I know my company scours sites like Facebook all the time to make sure employees are not doing illegal things. I had to send one of my guys that was boderline ok into the office because HR found pics of him smoking dope on his Facebook account. They sent him for a random drug screening and when he popped, he was terminated on the spot! Part of the reason why I do not have, nor will never have an account on that type of site.

it was a temp. job karl, so they can pretty much fire me for no reason at all, and there's not much i can do about it. i hate temping, but the pay was right, and so were the hours. i don't do any illegal drugs, and other than a lot of racism and lots of foul language my f/b is pretty clean, i guess.

Not saying you do, but any posting about your alcohol problems could have helpe their decision as well. Temp jobs do suck, I feel you there. Just saying though...

Sorry about the job loss Dan.

Well I figured I would throw my input in, I did some graphic design for work a few years back so I've gone through a lot of this kind of stuff. I voted for "something else because these aren't cutting it". I don't think that ripping off another companies logo is the way to go. Get some inspiration from it, but don't copy it. Google different companies logo's to see what they look like. Again, don't copy them, just get idea's.

Also, like you said in the first post. Something simple, so don't over think it. Think of a basic shape, object, ect.. then throw some lettering on it. I like the slanted "S" in your first design but I think having an actual "locker" on the design would be drifting away from the "simple" idea. You might look through some different fonts to see if something matches good. A good rule of thumb for designing logos, you don't have to make them all in paint first. Scratch out a bunch on some paper and pick the best. Then draw it up.

Anyways, just my two cents.

i draw way better than i can use paint, but i don't have a scanner anymore. i did google logos, and found a metric **** ton of companies with "stg" as their initials. this one would be badass if i could make the ring look like a ring gear imho.
