4WD Question
I am pretty new to 4WD systems, but fairly technical otherwise, I am curious as to if I have an issue or not.
On my 1996 Bronco EB 351, I engaged the 4WD system this morning due to snow (alot of it!) and while trying to get up my driveway (not too steep, but very icy) the rear wheels would spin and I wasn't able to get up. After backing down and getting a "running start" I was able to get up, but a neighbor who was watching said that when I was spinning the rear wheels trying to get up, the fronts weren't spinning at all. I immediately thought that maybe my Auto hubs (still on there) had gone.
Later in the day, I tried a tight circling manuever in a parking lot to see if it felt like the 4WD was engaging the front wheels. I felt that kind of binding that felt like it was indeed in 4WD.
Is there a better way to determine 100% if my front wheels are engaging or not?
TIA
Max
