I presume that the pictures show the streaks down the hose but it's a bit hard to tell.

Try cleaning things up with simple green or something similar and seeing if you can detect the leak a little more precisely.

What about the seams in the reservoir, they have a tendancy to crack?

I recently replaced my cap on my tank. It was a source of my coolant leak but it was more of blowby than a drip.

Is that coolant bottle discolored or is the coolant that rusty color?? A good flush and ELC coolant would be good while your in there.

Everything looks normal. I plan on doing a coolant flush with elc, coolant filter, 203 thermostat, and possibly a new water pump. Any suggestions on the above?

I replaced my coolant tank this summer having spills in the same area. Took me a while to figure out what is going on, because small crack on the back of the tank was invisible and it spilled coolant only under extreme pressure when I was driving. If your tank is brownish like the picture shows, that's the sign of deterioration. Get a new one. With my business I got 20% discount at the stealer and walked out the door with new one -leaving about $80

There's been some recent discussion on the advisability of using the higher-temperature thermostat, as it tends to increase oil temperatures as well.

Search is your friend.

I pulled my 203 recently after about 5 years and put in the stock one. My truck runs better at the cooler temp. I drove it 5 years each way. I love the billet housing though.

I put a new reservoir on mine and it looks great. Might not be your leak problem, but after ten years those things start looking pretty bad. With new coolant, it looks great.

I also pulled my 203* out in favor of a 195*. While I was at it, I put in my new degauss bottle, rebuilt my oil cooler, and switched over to Delo ELC. If you haven't rebuilt your oil cooler yet, DO IT! My green o-rings were hard as a rock, ask Clay or Ron! All I had was a minor oil leak at the front gasket too........

A new Degauss bottle is cheap, like $50 and I would go with an OEM water pump as well for less headaches. Red ELC is a great improvement as well as the stock t-stat, IMO.

The two most common places they tend to leak intermittently are the thermostat housing and the bolt together elbow joint on the water pump for the lower radiator hose.
