what did you pay for your truck ?

well thanks to this thread i was able to use your guys' purchase prices to get my dealer down to a number i was comfortable with paying for my truck. so thank you all.
but here's how my day went.
on the way to the dealership i kicked her down to pass a vehicle. come over a hill, highway patrol in an unmarked Yukon. i hit the brakes. he flipped on his lights. i pulled over before he even got to highway speeds. he was nice, only gave me a ticket for going 5 MPH over the limit. the MN highway patrol was having a fun raiser today, i saw 9-10 of them today, a friend said the CMV was having a field day with commercial vehicles too. thats my first speeding ticket in 8 years.
so i get to the dealership. turns out my oil leak is the rear main seal. they will need to pull the transmission to fix it.
the mud flaps are not an updated design for the 2011, and couldnt be put on.
the bug deflector is hideous so i told them not to put that on either.
then came the new "bigger" tires. it took 5-6 hours to get the tires mounted. the tech busted one of the tire pressure sensors and they had to scramble to find a replacement. i spent 6 hours in their customer lounge. to make it worse, i assumed when i ordered 305's they would be about 34" tall. wrong. they only measure to 32 inches. so i spent alot of money and time on bigger tires that barely look cooler than stock tires.
so far, this truck has been alot of headaches, but it isnt Ford's fault.
i still love the truck even though the interior is not as spacious as my 2006 F350.

Sorry that some of you got hot over my post. I see that at least a couple caught what I was saying. I think a working truck is very important, and I've bought plenty for my own business(es). I just have trouble with the idea of paying what the manufacturers want from me as an individual. At work, the trucks are roughly MSRP minus 15-20k, and that's without the 'employee pricing' or any other exceptional promotions. With that in mind, I see the price they want from me as an individual as nearly pure extortion. The ones we just had delivered (crew cab 4x4s) were 30k.

Dpends. Long ago, you walked in and asked to talk to the fleet mgr. You usually either had to show that you owned 5-10 other vehicles, or else order a minimum number of vehicles. Don't know whether it's still that way or not, but either way that won't get you the kind of pricing I refer to above.
At this point, our overall organization's fleet is gargantuan, and I'm only responsible for a tiny fraction of it. We deal directly with Ford now.

I shan't enter the thread here any more, because I'm not trying to upset people. I just wanted to explain why I can't bring myself to even entertain buying a new truck like this on a personal level/basis.

When I was pricing a $56,000 truck I was getting a deal for $47,700 or close to that. I would start by offering $49,000 or $49,500 and call a few dealers. I don't even think about "making them mad" with a low offer because I look at it like this, they'll sell if they want and they don't have to if they don't want to. It's my JOB, part time, to keep as much of my money as I can, it's their full time JOB to take as much money from me as they can. I like to think I can do my job better. Happy hunting.

I think that anyone who shops around and is willing to take their time buying can get a better than average deal.

The Edmunds' invoice price is right on but does not include the FDAF assessment which is usually around 6 to 7 hundred dollars. Add that to their invoice price and you will have the dealer invoice. Add 1 to 2 hundred to that and you will be very close to the X-Plan price.
I don't know where they get their "true market" price. They say its an average of what people in your area are paying... but I find that hard to believe.
