Hey Lloyd, Hows that Falcon coming along ? Hope all is well, there was an email going around asking about news on you for a spell. Never got bad news and assume you took a cruise and some time off from the project.
Been off the site due to browser woes. Safari crashes here for some reason, Firefox works but is a bit funky to me as far as user GUI goes. I'm plugging away at the comet on a budget, $0.02 a week equals mostly advice lately LOL Picked up a set of 11" Granada discs conversions, but have to wonder if a straight axle with discs as a bolt in isnt a simpler/less expensive route ? I know you had a setup made for yours and wondered if you would share some insight on the project. Supplier, costs, extras, likes/dislikes etc..
The option to ebay the Granada swap and other items is tempting as the ease of wrenching on a straight axle setup is a viable option.
Will check back, take care amigo! And to the rest of you.. yes i'm still alive!! and lazy!!

Hi Bob, good to hear from you. In May and June we took a around the USA rv trip and came back in July. I have been waiting for cooler weather to take the Falcon out since I installed a trans brake and 3500 rpm converter. I want to make sure everything is working perfectly before using nitrous. The straight axle is great. It runs straight and true, and the disk brakes work fine. The assembly was from Speedway Motors in Nebraska. Parts were $1,708 and total installed was $2,598.99 which I am very happy with the price and finished product. Master cylinder and other brake parts were Wilwood, so I am happy with the quality. Only issue I am worrying about is with nitrous, that I might be at the rev limiter before getting to the 1/4 mile finish line. I might have to purchase taller slicks, or change the gear ratio in the differential. Again my goal is 10.1 to 10.3 and I might be there without nitrous, or at least a small amount. My nitrous system lowest jetting is 100 hp. We will see,,, the temperatures will be going down in September and October. Going to the drags is no fun when it is over 100 degrees and you are old.
If you go quicker than 10.0 NHRA rules require a license, full fire suit etc. etc.. which is not what I want to do, so I have to be careful not to go into the 9's.
