thanks
p.s. i dont know if this would affect it but the exhaust ends at the end of the down pipe it needs a new exhaust system</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
When you changed the fuel filter did you clean the FPR screen? There's a little hole inside the filter housing on the driver side, take the cotton off a q-tip and clean the junk off that little screen.
Also get a cheap tire gauge that goes up to at least 80psi and check fuel pressure at idle from the schrader valve on the driver side outside of the fuel filter housing (brass doohickey aka FPR) and then post what PSI you get.
thanks for the reply...i just changed the oil yesturday and just replaced the tranny fluid today with synthetic merc. 5 and found out that the input shaft seal is shot....but thats a whole other story....i will see if i can get a tire gauge and no i didn't clean the fpr i will tonight though ill post what i got as soon as i can
Just FYI you don't have to "cycle" the glowplugs. They stay on even after the Wait to Start light goes out, and stay on for about 2 minutes or so. You can watch your volt gauge as it stays down at first and then when it pops back up is when the glowplugs turn off.
Might be time to get your injectors rebuilt... 281k is a lot of miles for stock injectors.
cleaned the fpr screen and it is now clean but it still misfires. i also realized today that it does misfire when in the other gears just not as bad. and also it wasnt just in the 2-3k rpm range it was from 1-3k
