Exhaust
I have a 95 f 150 4x4 5 speed. I have added a K and N drop in filter and gained a noticable amount of power and fuel economy. I want to get rid of the 2nd cat and stock muffler but have some questions. First, since my tail pipe is in good shape can i just cut before the cat and after the muffler and peice it back together or just start from the 1st cat and go out the rear? Second, i want to go with a flowmaster but wich one?, Third, where should the flowmaster be placed, in stock location or where cat was?and fourth, what size pipe should i use?
Thanks a lot.

im hoping your state doesnt do emmissions, cause taking out that cat would then throw you out of legally driving your truck. i would cut before that cat, then just route your pipe back, dont re-use any stock pipe after the cat, its crinkle bent and will decrease your power. use a mandrel bent 2.5" pipe either out the back or to the pass. side. on the flowmaster, a 40 or 50 series will sound ok (the 300 will sound a bit odd compared to a v8 just because of how the cylinders fire), a center-in/out muffler will work, or you can use a 3" in, 2.5" dual out muffler, and just hang it in the stock location.
hope this helps even just a bit.

I recently updated my exhaust and I have been thrilled ever since. I have a '93 EFI which came stock with a split exhaust manifold (definitely no need for headers unless heavily modified). The exhaust stays split until after the O2 sensor, and I must say this is the perfect place to begin the new pipe. Dual from just behind the O2 sensor with TWO flowmasters turned on their side and tucked up and out of the way using 2.25" pipe exiting in front of both rear wheels. It is louder, sounds somewhat like a cross between a V8 and a diesel, however not loud enough to cause much increase in cab noise. The power gains were suprising, this truck has been held back all this time. I am VERY pleased with this setup, and I highly recommend it. You will want to reset your computer, and if necessary you can check for proper O2 operation (although I didn't run into any conflicts).
