rear axle swap
Folks are trying to convice me to travel the junkyard circuit looking for a replacement (or upgrade) for my 200K 8.8 open rear end, 3.55 gears. Its an F150 XLT Lariat 4x4 with the E40D.
Is there a chart of specs that will help me see what years and types will be easy drop ins. I saw an ad for a 2001 10.4 Easton axle L/s (I think.) 28K miles on it. Can that be made to work/fit? I guess I need to know more about axle width from backplate to backplate. Is there a file with this info somewhere?
