got a stack!

well iv'e been running my exhaust out right in front of the rear left tire n the hole rim is black. so i was looking n bought a stack! its 4"x68". i haven't put it in yet, was wondering whats a good height to run it at, i was thinking of having just the tip right above the cab but don't want the back window to turn black lol. you guys have any ideas? here's some pics the one of it in the bed is just getting an idea. dont like how its super tall.

I'd just run it like that, but turn it sideways so it blows to the passenger side, and also tilt it forward slightly...

do you haul cars or a box trailer behind you? if so, follow lcam's suggestion. if not, i would cut that thing down a bit. run it maybe 8 or 10" above the cab. if you lean it forward then lean it way forward, to match the cab. its all about keeping lines even or its gonna look like it was a mistake.

It should drop a bit for the actual install, a few inches at least. Depending on that, cut it so it's a bit above the cab. Visually I think that looks best, but that's just my opinion. Definitely turn it to the right of the truck as well.

ok, should be good. a low stack will black up any car your hauling pretty quick. i moved my exhaust from a side dump to a downward facing rear dump so the exhaust gets pushed below the trailer and out the back. i was tired of having to wash every car i hauled before i delivered it

so is 3"-4" above the cab to low?

it all depends on how you like it man. you gotta cut a hole in the bed anyways, cut it, slip the stack down there and put a band around it to hold it in place. slowly lower it down until you like where its at. im not big on stacks, but if i were to do it i would mimic sycostangs stacks but maybe a few inches lower.

What i don't like about that ^ is you lose almost a foot of bed. I love stacks, but usually don't want to lose my bed...

mine is just above the bed about 3 to 4 inches and has the outward turn like yours it blows out to the right of the passenger side and i haven't had any problems with it... since its outward turned pipe it cant blow the black back onto the cab.... well i guess if you had a 100 MPH tailwind it might but i have yet to see that happen.... i like it down close to the top of the cab myself.... easyier to get into the stalls at sonic with only my CB antenna to worry about.....

keep in mind this is before it was strapped down so i its just sitting on the exhaust pipe coming up through the bed... once i got it strapped down and tight it was more in line with the cab.... don't have any more recent pics though....

ya, you also have a way more aggressive bend and outlet on your stack 1994. it diverts a lot better then the slight bend he does.
