I to was concerned about making oil so I went to ford shop and diesel mech. told me that some trucks make oil and some don't. Oil can safely go as high as 1 inch above top of plastic on dip stick . On short stick check oil should read in middle of plastic. After 2500 miles my truck has not made oil. Mech. also told me that oil changes every 5000 miles were the life of this motor, always every 5000. 08 f250 job 1. thanks for talking about this subject and making me more aware of how important these oil changes really are.
